Chef Giovanni S. Morina (Gio), began cooking before
he could walk in his Sicilian mothers and grandmothers kitchen.
Gio graduated in 1998 from the ACF accredited and acclaimed culinary
school at SCCC. Before opening Gio Culinary Studio, Chef Gio served
as Executive Chef in some of the areas best food service establishments
including L’Ecole Encore and the gourmet market and eatery,
Cowan & Lobel.
Gio Culinary Studio, located in Voorheesville, NY, offers hands-on
culinary classes, catering, private chef services and serves as
a student externship site for the C.I.A., SCCC, Paul Smiths College
and other area culinary schools.
In 2011 Gio opened Gio Cakes, which continues to specialize in
Custom cakes and desserts previously offered by Gio Culinary Studio.
Chef Gio is a regular cast member and competitor of Food Network
Challenge.
